What is a home saving contract?
Home savings plan in Luxembourg is a mechanism that enables individuals to build up tax-advantaged savings with the aim of acquiring, building or renovating a home.
What is the deductible ceiling for a home savings plan?
Since 2017, the deductible amounts associated with home savings have been set according to taxpayers' age.
As a result, the ceiling has been doubled for individuals under 41, allowing a deduction of β¬1.344 per person in the household. For those over 41, the ceiling is set at 672β¬, this amount also being multiplied by the number of individuals in the household.
Example:
A household of 4 people (2 adults under 41 and 2 children) can benefit from a deduction of β¬5,376, equivalent to a tax refund of up to β¬2,460.
